printing digital fotos

Comments

I've ordered prints from Snapfish before and I was happy with the quality. I've also printed them at the self-service kiosks at places like Kinko's when time was an issue. There are lots of online services now: Winkflash, Kodak EasyShare, Snapfish, PhotoWorks, etc.
thanks for the reply, red pen!
being from canada, i've always used futureshop's services. but others i know have used snapshop and kodak with nothing but good things to say. the quality is rarely an issue. you pretty much get good quality in most known places these days.

flickr.com also has the added bonus of printing your selected photos for you. i will probably try that because i have a pro-flickr account. it just makes it easier - i've already uploaded my images so why would i need to upload them again somewhere else to get my photos developed? a flickr account only costs $24.99 a year.

the added bonus of using an online service is that you can just do it at home. and most online sites gives you the ability to remove red-eye and crop your photos to your liking. it's so convenient - especially to have it mailed right to your door.

thanks for the tip, shy!

i'll "shop around" a bit, i think.

I'm very happy with Flickr's print service actually! The prices are very competitive and the quality is just like standard film developed prints. just be sure you upload a good high-quality file & you're good to go :)
i love my hp photosmart printer!!!!! it's great for printing a few pictures here and there, for gifts or framing. but if you are planning to print images in bulk, then the services you described are probably the best bet. linda, i've always been interested in trying flickr's print service, but just haven't yet. sounds like a good one though. cyn, i mainly use kodak for my photo printing services. i've never been dissatisfied with their quality or color. and they are fast and prompt too!

thanks, lk! good to know.
but i've resisted a flikr acct for so long!
haha! all the choices are a bit overwhelming.

gg, i don't know if we'll ever set up our
hp printer. =X like our xbox 360, m bought
it two years ago and never opened it.
we just don't have the time. (or he doesn't.
he's the gadget guy.)

thanks for the recs tho!

whomever i got to print coco's fotos didn't
do a good job. the chickee came out a bit
too orangeish. =O

i use flickr as well, and have actually had my photos printed out and delivered to target for pickup. you save on shipping that way, i think, and the quality is pretty good. i also love my photo printers, both my old epson and current canon printer do a really good job, though i guess it costs more using your own ink and supplies!
i've stopped printing most of my digital photos and just do photobooks now. it takes up a lot less space and you can add captions in the process. i primarily go thru shutterfly for prints & books and i've never been disappointed.
[this is good]
If youre still using Picasa - click the "Print" button. You can select the services you want to send it to - even Walgreens and have it sent or go pick up the prints.

Efficient. No muss, no fuss.

And why are you resisting flickr? Come over to the Dark Side.
hey joey! that is exactly what i did.
and i chose shutterfly. i was very pleased
with the results. =)

as for flickr, it's because of time.
i just don't have it. between agent
research, doing queries, following
writing, editing, agent blogs and
of course my personal reads and
the gym, there's not enough time in the day.

it's why i have resisted.

oh, and i'm supposed to update once
in a while on jaycine, too. right. ha!
Hahaha. Your flickr excuse is hilarious. :) You and I know its yer Virgo non-joining instincts

Winnie and Linda now use it extensively now, its become their primary means of expression now.

actually you're wrong! that's how i feel
about FACEBOOK. refuse to join, other
than to see if i can stalk past crushes.
haha!

i always saw flickr as a photo journal
site, which is fun to lurk, but nothing
i can contribute to. instead, i'm
in three writing communites or five. 8)

I feel the same way, I only joined Facebook - and only a few months ago - because my friend Tim Hawkings asked me to.

But seriously, Flickr is way better. And actually quite useful in many ways other than photography - such as in networking.
Plus Im using it to test publishing ideas. :) Pretty interesting...
